The Love of Jesus

On the right, Jesus on the cross thrusts into the side of Satan(shown here as a dragon). God's fire surrounds the cross as Jesus suffers, and the fire(representative of God's holy wrath against sin) consumes away the sin of the world, and thus Jesus in His death vanquishes the Lord of death- Satan himself.

On the left, proceeding out from Jesus' pierced side on the right, is the Church(personified as a young woman) held by Jesus. Jesus is wearing a crown made of Calvary, surrounded with the instruments of His death: the Cross, the whip(or scourge), the Crown of thorns, the Sponge, the pillar of scourging, the reed, and the Lance. Heaven unfolds behind the couple, as Jesus welcomes the Church to his home in heaven.
